Police

Welcome to the Finedon Police web page. Finedon is part of the Wellingborough Rural North Safer community team, which is led by Sergeant Martin Sutton. The team covers the areas of Earls Barton, Finedon, Great Doddington, Sywell, Wilby and surrounding villages. The SCT provides communities with a dedicated team of officers who are visible, accessible and known to local people

The Rural North SCT is made up of police officers, Police Community Support Officers as well as Special Constables. We work very closely with our partners from Wellingborough Borough Council and other agencies and organisations, such as the local residents associations and Neighbourhood Watch.

The officers responsible for the Finedon area are PC Carter and PCSO Charlene Kudryk - who I’m sure you have seen around the village.

Community policing is about local policing, with police and partners working with the community to identify and tackle the crime and disorder problems that most concern local people, from dealing with persistent burglaries to clearing up graffiti and vandalism, dealing with motorcycle nuisance or tackling drug crime.

Between the 23rd and 27th of May the Summerlee Rd medical centre in Finedon was subject to criminal damage. The offenders used a air rifle to shoot 6 ground floors windows, the cost to replace these windows was in excess of £1000. Fortunately no one was in the building at the time, as this could have resulted in injuries. Possession of on a air rifle in a public place is a serious offence as it is deemed a firearm, should you witness anyone in a public place with a air rife please contact us immediately, likewise if you have any information in relation to the damage caused to the medical centre please contact us on the details provided above.

As well as the damage there has also been a recent increase in the amount of anti social behaviour around the site, this has understandably caused alarm and distress to the employees who work in the centre, patients and residents who live locally. Please can I ask that if you witness anti social behaviour, to contact us immediately so we can attend and establish who the offenders are and take appropriate action. Anyone caught in or around the premises acting in a anti social manner or causing criminal damage, risk being removed (along with there immediate family) from the registered patients list.
